A Few Words About RuralVermont.com

Our primary goal for RuralVermont.com is that those who visit the site go away with the same good feelings that visitors to our state do, while at the same time providing a place where Vermonters can share their experiences, exchange information and perhaps entertain themselves a little. We plan to make RuralVermont.com a resource for everyone interested in the goings on in Vermont and extend our reach to all corners of the state. Stay tuned in 1998 for some exciting new additions.

And while the web is filled with blinking, flashing, splashy sites where every other item seems to twirl or spin--Vermont is not a neon, blinking kind of place. We feel its web site shouldn't be either. RuralVermont.com is meant to feel like a weekend in the country or a stop at the general store.

As part of the site, we host the Vermont Weathervane which has a wealth of information on country living...everything from artists to woodstoves. We invite you to thumb through some of these pages as well.

We've been extremely pleased with the reactions we've gotten to this site. We welcome and appreciate your comments and ideas for making RuralVermont.com an even better stop on the web. We alone did not make RuralVermont.com the success that it is, people from all around the world have encouraged its evolution with great suggestions and observations. We invite you to do the same.Tell us what you think!

A Few Words About Winning Best of The Web 1997

We are on the right track.

A Few Words from Others

Folks, if you find life's too hectic, stop right now and point your browser to [RuralVermont]. That's the first site I've ever seen that tastes like apple cider and smells like maple syrup. That's one helluva site you have, makes me wanna be there! Everything, the photos (liked that Holstein cow behind the sign), the graphics, colours were to the point and especially the copywriting is terrific. Wonderful contents, I read most of it, spent more than an hour on your site (can't remember when I've done that before), good navigation. I really enjoyed getting introduced to the local folks, what a wonderful idea. Bookmarked under "I wish I had done that" --T.Caspers

I loved the down-hominess of the site; very fun, very appropriate. The way you use people for navigation is great. My company recently did our chamber's page, and I wish we would have gone with an approach more like yours. -- G. Breukelman
Wow. What a creative way to approach a tourism perspective. Congratulations - totally hooked me. I also very much liked how you incorporated local news into the site to make it useful for those who live there as well as provide a window into community life for visitors at the site. Very smart. --L.McConnell
Having grown up in New England, Vermont has always been something special to me. This site takes me back there. I especially miss it in Autumn... the fall colors, maple syrup, the pumpkin patches, hot cider..... it's all there, in your site! I seemed to get further and further into the site, enjoying every page...Wonderful site! Thanks for the reminiscing... --C. Tait
I simply wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed finding your website. I was lucky enough to visit Vermont this past summer and have fallen in love with it. I think I found me in Vermont. I'm finishing up school now and hope to find myself in Vermont for good someday soon. I plan on coming back for another visit next summer. My roommate at college is from East Arlington. So far I've only gotten to see Brattleboro, Newfane and Putney (which I love!). Once again, I'm so glad you've got this sight here. I'm down here in Pennsylvania longing for Vermont. I think I left a part of me at that swimming hole I visited in Putney. I'm off to visit your bookstore site now. Thanks again! Hillary Evans --H. Evans
I'm very glad I found you and now that I have -- I plan to visit you often -- when I'm not "on the clock" at work that is. My initial reaction is that you have indeed achieved your goal of capturing both Vermont's spirit and calender of events! --N. Williams
