Family Wetlands Explorations Want to identify the bird singing in the marsh, in your backyard, or down the road? Ever wanted to see a wood frog up close? And is it possible to stalk a spring peeper in the daytime? Answer these questions and more during these two-hour family outings to local wetland "hot spots" led by Montshire educators. Be prepared to "muck around" as we explore the amphibian life that is a sure sign of warmer weather approaching. Sign up for one or both sessions (sessions at two different local sites). Dates & Times: Session 1-Sat., (April 29; 9-11 am. Session 2-Sun., May 7, 9-10 am. Fee/session: MemberPlus: $10 for first family member; $5 for each additional family member (maximum of $20/family). Others: $12 for first family member, $6 for each additional family member, maximum of $24/family.
Parent/Child Preschool Program: New to Nature
Ages 3-4 with a Parent or Caretaker
Dogs have wet noses to help them catch a scent, raccoons can catch a crayfish by just touch, hawks can spot a mouse from high in the sky, and ants have antennae to "feel" their way along. We'll use all our senses to explore how animals perceive their world. Rediscover the wonder of the natural world when explored through the eyes of your child! You and your youngster will learn together, with the expert guidance of a Montshire educator. Date & Time: Mon., May 8; 9:30-11 am or 1-2:30 pm.
