Vermont's Top Ten Winter Events

The Vermont Chamber of Commerce's top ten winter events offer both Vermonter and visitor alike a winter wonderland of music, sleigh rides, carnivals, ice fishing, snowshoe racing and snow golf.

Ranging from month-long community celebrations to a spectacular New Year's Eve bash with fireworks over Lake Champlain, Vermont's winter events compliment a season full of snow fun for everyone.

Each year, the Vermont Chamber of Commerce appoints a distinguished panel of judges who receive nominations for the many special events held throughout the state. The judges then have the difficult task of selecting the top ten winter events.

This year's judges were: Tom Slayton, Editor of Vermont Life magazine; Molly Mahar Kerr, Vermont Ski Areas Association; Burr Morse, Morse Farm & Vermont Attractions Association; Tim Shea, Director, Burlington Convention & Visitors Bureau, Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce; and Ron Fisher, the Vermont Department of Agriculture.

"This year's winners highlight the excitement and beauty Vermont offers throughout the winter season. Our unparalleled skiing and these wonderful events combine to offer even more of a reason to come celebrate Vermont in winter," said Susan Kruthers Moore, Director of the Vermont Chamber's Department of Travel and Tourism. "Congratulations to the winners, and to all those who participated in this year's competition," she added.
